Provide controls for the expansion of a bulk fertilizer warehousing system with a system of conveyors and diverters that transports bulk ship-borne urea to storage domes which can then be distributed to rail or truck.
We created the controls scope, provided the hardware, control enclosures, touchscreens, instrumentation, documentation, software for this system. With more than 500 IO, fiber ethernet was used for remote IO and dispersed HMI stations because of the large geographic area.
For this solution, we used:
Supply controls hardware and software to control the functionality of conveyors, gates, elevator, functional safety, and sequence of a sortation process while exchanging data with the customer database via a PLC SQL module.
The control system communicates with weigh scales, bar code scanners, cameras, supervisory database, safety controller, touchscreen monitors, and forklift mounted tablets. Our team built and provided a controls enclosure with extra room for future additions. Data is collected and tracked between sources and destinations, and still images of waste for LEED compliance are collected for the demolition contractor and client.
